Dear Mitt Romney:

Today you're claiming that the REAL reason you cannot disclose your tax statements is because of your faith.

For that to be the case which of the following two things would have to be true:

1) Your father was not a member of the LDS;

2) The rules over disclosure have changed between 1968 and 2012.

If the latter, can you at LEAST tell us when this fundamental change in policy happened?   Unless it was "just a moment ago" can you explain why this "fundamental reason" didn't occur to you at any point in this campaign, or the campaign in 2008?

Speaking of past campaigns, if disclosing tax returns is so problematic for you because of church-related donations, why didn't it occur to you to offer the same courtesy to Ted Kennedy when you were running for his Senate seat?
